Ministry Facilitator Deaconess Sarah Gaffney
Deaconess Sarah Gaffney began her ministry with Voice of Care over the summer of 2016 and is a Master Trainer for REST (Respite Education and Support Tools) Program. Sarah served in congregational youth ministry for five years before becoming a stay-at-home mom. She has five active children, high school through adult. Recently, Sarah has taught multiple grades in Lutheran schools and been a substitute teacher for a number of school districts while pursuing a Master of Special Education with a teaching license. In her previous position, Sarah worked as a paraprofessional, dealing directly with special education students, including those with autism and down syndrome. Sarah received her training through Concordia University Chicago in River Forest, Illinois and is working toward her Master’s at Governor’s State University. Not only is Sarah a member of the Concordia Deaconess Conference, but she has been a great taxi driver and cheerleader over years of taking her children to their sundry sporting and music events. |
