​PASTOR PAUL: “Just call me 'basketball'"

One of my first experiences with Voice of Care was serving at Special Needs Camp. Having fun and fellowship in the great outdoors of God’s creation facilitates ministry to God’s special people.

At camp, I was told that each counselor is typically given a camp name. My daughter Jillian, a veteran camp volunteer, is affectionately known as “Moofie.” I’ve served previously at other camps and had always been referred to as Pastor Paul.

The decision as to what my camp name should be was quickly settled when one camper could not quite manage the pronunciation of my name.  As hard as she tried to say Pastor Paul, what came out instead was “Basketball.”  

​It did not take too much time to decide that was my perfect official camp name!  I’m Pastor Paul, but you can just call me “Basketball.”
