Spiritual Respite Companion Care Model
Comfort for the Comforters
“Comfort, comfort my people,” says your God (Isaiah 40:1). Voice of Care affirms the vital role of companionship and spiritual respite. Whether sitting beside a child during Sunday School, walking with a participant at VBS, or being present during worship, companion care is both inclusive ministry and caregiver respite.
This model also incorporates our REST (Respite, Education, Support, Tools) training—designed for those offering care in more personal, home-based settings. REST-trained individuals provide dignified, informed support to people with disabilities, while offering emotional and physical relief to caregivers.
All hallmarks of T.E.A.C.H. - Training, Education, Awareness, Coaching and Hope are now embedded in all 3 primary models, especially within REST and the practical training churches receive to foster inclusive, sustainable ministry.
