Training

Voice of Care offers a support organization for parents and others who care for persons with developmental disabilities. Meeting four times each year in supportive Christian fellowship, Voice of Care offers speakers and topics related to:

  • Life within the Church and our congregations.
  • Life in our society, with issues related to public policy to inform our advocacy for persons disabled.
  • Life planning issues within families and friendships of people developmentally disabled.

An annual Voice of Care picnic at Walcamp, as well as work at the Farm Stand in Walcamp’s Fall Festival, has given Voice of Care members a strong bond with Walcamp’s Ministry and the Special Needs HandyCamp Program.

Workshop Training

Every year Voice of Care joins with other agencies to provide a training and resource workshop in Northern Illinois for professional church workers and lay people. This is training to teach, counsel and serve with children and adults with developmental disabilites.
